There's nothing like a bit of National Pride.

Well we're absolutely hooked. The Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2014 have taken over. 

I spent 4 hours watching the games last night, hopping between the different sports, trying to grasp all the different rules and tactics. And I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed myself, having the same overwhelming sense of patriotic pride that the Olympics gave me. Never in my life have I voluntarily sat down for such a length of time to watch sport, but you're drawn into the Commonwealth bubble and you don't want to leave. It really is fabulous seeing all these young competitors putting in every ounce of effort and seeing people with genuine ambition fight for what they have worked so hard and so long for! Living in Berwick-upon-Tweed we find ourselves supporting both Scotland and England, with no preference to who will win (however at the 800m Men's Final tonight we'll be cheering from the crowds for Guy Learmonth, another fellow Berwick-er.)

Here's hoping that it inspires many young kids to keep fit & try a new sport!

So whichever country you find yourself supporting, I don't think anybody can deny the comradery that has taken place and the sheer pleasure that the athletes have running on their home British turf!

A huge congratulations to everybody who has taken part, everybody who has cheered a competitor on, or even just switched on for a bit of evening entertainment, you all have helped make something memorable.

Bee Happy and Treat Your Skin.

Have you ever tried the products from Burt's Bees? Well I never had and thought it was about time for me to have a go and let all you people know what I thought about them.

I have always found the claim that all products are between 99 - 100% natural intriguing,  I was curious to see whether the 'natural' route would make my skin feel better and more healthy. We all know that feeling of being weighed down by greasy chemically products, it was refreshing to find a range that openly says 'Never any Sulphates, Parabens, Phthalates, or Petrochemicals' (despite not knowing what many of these are, I'm fairly certain that I wouldn't like to be rubbing these on my skin!).

MY FIRST PRODUCT that I tried out was the BURT'S BEES, Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream (with Cocoa Butter & Sesame Oil) (£7.50).

Described as; 'Luxurious botanical butters found in nature help to hydrate dry hands. Our Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream is infused with moisturising Cocoa Butter and Sesame Oil which absorb quickly to keep the skin on your hands supple throughout the day'

Which I have to say, I completely agree with!

The moment I rubbed the cream into my hands it was as if they'd been starved for centuries and suddenly been given a big glass of cold water, I could hear them saying Thank you Charlotte, this is exactly what we wanted! My hands feel soft and smooth, however one serious negative of this is that I cannot stop touching my hands or forcing other people to feel how smooth and silky my skin is.

MY SECOND PRODUCT is the BURT'S BEES Green Tea & Lemongrass Hand Soap (£8.00), a soap that is light, beautifully fragrant and still gives the feeling that it is doing it's job good, well and proper. Unlike many other soap that I have used, this Hand Soap does not dry out my hands leaving me craving moisturiser, however I did find that the soap works wonderfully with the hand cream!

MY THIRD PRODUCT was the Peach and Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub (£10.00) which claims to leave your skin feeling 'soft and smooth' and let me tell you, it certainly does! Although, I wouldn't recommend it those of you with very sensitive skin, it might be a bit to much, my skin however LOVES is! (It also works beautifully with my Rich Thermo-Protective Cream by Pythomer!)

Seaside ventures.

Fancying an afternoon away? A venture to take your mind of things? Do what I did, Go to Eyemouth! This small seaside town offers beautiul views, beautiful food and a friendly atmosphere to any who visit.

If you do happen to go to Eyemouth I would highly recommend paying a visit to the amazing bar & bistro Oblò, situated near the harbour Oblò has fantastic food and equally fantastic service, I would also recommend getting the 'Goujons of Eyemouth Haddock in a Crisp Batter'!

Carrying on with the 'seaside' theme, why not check out these Seaside signs, great for decoration in a bathroom or kitchen, brightening up any shelf or spare space:

Who Doesn't Enjoy a Cuppa??

Well, Hello everyone, Happy New Year and a BIG welcome to 'Charlotte's Cup-of-Tea-Time' blog! A place where I will fill you in on the lovely and special things that are happening in and around my work and life.

A lovely and adorable shop and online business based in the beautiful part of Britain, Berwick-upon-Tweed, called Drift Living. 'Life' for me fluctuates between Berwick-upon-Tweed and the lovely city of York, both historical and inspiring places to live and I'm lucky to be able to be a part of them, 'Life' also includes: baking, reading, rowing, Driftliving and LOTS OF DRINKING TEA, as I'm sure you'll notice along the way :)
